Who Was? A Story Time – Sojourner Truth

August 8 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

- Free

In honor of Women’s Equality, day, this month’s story time will explore the life of Sojourner Truth, an anti-slavery and women’s rights activist. After hearing about her inspiring life, children will have the opportunity to make an equality key chain to take home.

We are partnering with the Cedar Rapids Public Library for a children’s story program based on the Who Was series of biographies. These sessions will feature a reading of a Who Was biography and a hands-on activity to connect kids to the inspiring life of each story time’s subject. Join us on the second Saturday of each month to celebrate important historical and contemporary African Americans. Every participant in the Who Was? A Story Time series will receive a coupon that can be redeemed at the AAMI museum store for 10% a Who Was? book.
