The Life of an American Girl

February 1 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

We are excited to invite you to our monthly American Girl Day events at the African American Museum of Iowa. Each event will be a morning of fun inspired by the stories of Addy, Claudie, and Melody, young girls growing up during different times in American history. Join us for a fun-filled days of crafts, reading, and creative writing. We encourage you to bring your American Girl Doll or any doll but having a doll is not necessary to attend. While this program is designed primarily for late elementary school students, all are welcome, young and old.

Activities will include:

  • Creative crafts inspired by the American Girl stories
  • Engaging reading sessions
  • Opportunities to learn about the history and culture behind their characters and similar stories of young people in Iowa

Bring your friends and your creativity!

Let us know you’re coming by registering for this FREE program. Space is limited.

This program is part of the AAMI’s recurring First Saturdays Series! Join us on the first Saturday of every month as we explore a new part of The Life of an American Girl! Or, come earlier in the morning for Coffee Conversations – an opportunity to spread compassion through education.
