Join us for a vibrant celebration of diverse cultural expressions, blending the world of anime and cosplay with the rich history and contributions of African Americans in the arts. Come dressed in your favorite cosplay fashions. Hear from  Basi Affia, author and founder/owner of Sensiil Studios. “Sensiil Studios is a space where Pan African people can see themselves in the future, and see that they have a future, by producing stories with black lead characters.” Learn more about Basi Affia and Sensiil Studios here.
This program is part of the recurring AAMI series, Not a Monolith. Join us on the third Saturday of each month for this series, dedicated to exploring the diverse experiences, interests, and perspectives of Black individuals. Save the date for next month as we discuss Afro-Futurism (February 15 @ 4:00 PM).
