Dr. Brie Swenson Arnold “The Emma Oliphant Story”

Join us Friday, June 15th at the AAMI at 7pm for Dr. Brie Swenson Arnold, Associate Professor of History at Coe College, and her presentation of the inspiring story of Emma Oliphant, along with six other African American women who challenged racial segregation in woman’s factory work in Cedar Rapids in the 1890’s.

This event if free and open to the public. This presentation is made possible by Humanities Iowa and is also part of the AAMI’s Juneteenth celebration.
