We invite you to join us for our new monthly series, Coffee Conversations. Beginning in October, AAMI will begin hosting informal conversations on our newest exhibit Racist Things: Hateful Imagery in the American Home.

Central to the thinking of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the concept of the “Beloved Community.” Encompassing this thought, our goal is to spread compassion through education. Dr. King believed that human existence was social in nature. King stated that “the solidarity of the human family” was important. “We are tied together in the single garment of destiny, caught in an inescapable network of mutuality.” He recognized, as we do at the AAMI, the importance of honoring the past and working towards a just future. Personal growth cannot take place apart from meaningful relationships with other people.

To that end, we invite you to join us on the first Saturday each month, for coffee and conversations at the AAMI! We look forward to seeing you there!
